Strawberries are a last spring delicacy and in North Carolina, it gets hot in late spring, so what is a better way to celebrate the sweetness of the strawberry and the warmth of the NC spring than with ice cream!
2 cups heavy cream
1 cup whipping cream
1/2 cup sugar
1 tsp sugar

Add all your ingredients to your ice cream maker, allow to churn until thickened.
If you don’t have an ice cream maker, add all ingredients to a shallow pot and turn stove top onto medium. Heat until it begins to simmer. Turn off the heat and stir until the sugar is dissolved. Allow to cool to room temperature before pouring into a freezer proof container. Place in freezer and allow to freeze.
Serve cold.
